All Preset Combinations are stored directly on the Compact Flash Card, so no batteries are required. Each Preset Combination is user programmable and can be saved and loaded via Vista’s Compact Flash memory card. In addition, the Ensemble has the ability to store 128 Preset Combinations in 16 possible capture memory locations (the available capture memories are based on the Allen Organ the Vista™ is installed on). The Ensemble section also contains 8 complete drum kits. The General MIDI soundset includes 128 different sounds arranged in the familiar General MIDI format, plus, an additional 127 sounds from the Allen Organ sample library.

The MIDI Assistant USB thumbdrive can also be connected to a PC for advanced file management or downloading of sequences and files from other sources. MIDI Assistant’s USB Flash Drive provides convenient storage for hundreds of sequences and organ capture files.
The optional MIDI Assistant Remote Control ($165) allows you to operate MIDI Assistant while away from the organ console. Its USB drive provides the storage capacity for hundreds of sequences. In addition to the Preset Mode, the Ensemble offers a General MIDI Mode perfect for playing back Standard MIDI files containing General MIDI sequences. Ensemble Presets may be called from the General Pistons of any MIDI-equipped Allen organ. Preset Mode allows independent programming of one or two Ensemble voices to up to four organ divisions for a total of eight simultaneously available voices. The Ensemble provides two modes of operation. The Allen Ensemble™ features 128 stunningly realistic General MIDI voices and 94 unique Allen-sampled sounds ranging from theatre organ posthorns and percussions to a wide variety of classical stops that give even smaller organs the versatility to play literature of every style–plus 21 additional Allen-sampled orchestral instruments!
